Another project for my Christmas fair stand are these cute owls - made after a traditional Japanese pattern. The word in Japanese for owl is fukuro, and it contains the word fuku, luck. So the owl is a symbol for luck.
These owls are made of fabric, the big ones partially of recycled jeans fabric and new cotton prints. Some of the eyes are made of vintage buttons fro my grandmother stash.
They're very cute and not too complicated to make - and you can even use the as pincushions!
Hi Doris,
ReplyDeleteThe owls are adorable. When is your Christmas Fair?
Hugs,
Joyce
It was already last weekend - I didn't have time to post these items earlier, as I was so busy with the preparations. It was not very successful, but it was to be expected. People normally don't want to spend more than a few Francs, and to be honest, they don't appreciate handmade things.
ReplyDeleteWell, that is their loss. We all know the hard work and long hours that goes into handmade crafts. And we all appreciate each other.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joyce
